The Magicard
Prima prints on the reverse of a transparent PVC
re-transfer film which is then laminated onto the
face of a CR80 sized card made from PVC, PET, ABS
or PVH This process protects the image from the
handling damage and produces a brilliant
edge-to-edge image with superb registration and
clarity.
Unique
Features
A very special and unique
feature is the Prima In-Line Lamination program.
These lamination modules allow for the
lamination of either translucent holograms as
well as rugged polyester patches on both, the
front side and the back side of the
card.
With this additional Laminating
program, nearly all combinations of making a
card secure and protected against physical
impacts are possible.
All Prima overlamination
modules are designed for inline operation and
are prepared for combinations. As an option, an
automatic card feeder module for stand-alone
operation is available.
An impressive selection of
Prima Holographic lamination foils, holographic
lamination foils incorporating COVID features,
patch laminates in different thicknesses and
clear overlays is available.
The Magicard
Prima offers real edge-to-edge printing in
exceptional print quality on front- and back side
of the cardbody in full color density (16,7
million colors). Due to the re-transfer
technology, the Prima is perfect to print on
pre-loaded cards, like contact- and contactless
chip cards without any limitations at the card
layout.
The Prima communicates through a
fast SCSI 2 interface with the computer system.
The SCSI 2 driver supports a high-secure firmware
controlled password routine, plug-ins for inline
chip encoding, special color correction tables and
user-configurable print job functions. This high
performance driver supports up to 6 (six) printers
simultanously connected to one computer
system.
The card supply drawer holds up to
300 card in ISO thickness and can be reloaded
during printer operation. Optional available is an
additional card feeder drawer prepared for the use
of thin (0,25 mm) card materials. The print ribbon
as well as the re-transfer film can easily be
loaded via color -coded cassettes and has a
capacity of 1,000 prints each.
To further
improve the scratch resistance of the card
surface, the "Patch Re-Transfer Film" feature is
available. These 0,15 mm patches are slightly
smaller than the card, therefore edgeless printing
is not possible. One roll of Patch Re-Transfer
Film holds 500 patches.
